This is the largest lounge chair that Ercol made. Both wide and deep, it takes a huge base cushion and a deep back cushion.

Parker Knoll lounge chair

Finished in a pale blue and yellow check that complements the slate blue frame.

Fully restored and re-sprung before painting, varnishing and re-upholstering.

One of a pair and sold as a set.

1930s Steamer Chair

Large and heavy 1930s steamer chair with recliner function. Re-furbished and re-painted. Solid brass rods form a ladder at the rear. Finished in Charcoal Grey paint from Little Green. New cushions and fabric.

Classic recliner chair from the 1930s. Again with recliner function but also having built in magazine side storage. Heavy “deck chair” type material used to match the newly painted frame.

Stripped and finished with a neutral varnish to show off the beech frame. This is a mid height chair with the characteristic curved back. Original Ercol cushions replaced with a more contemporary fabric and soft back cushion.

Ercol 334 Lounge chair

One of the smallest chairs made by Ercol.

Compact and comfortable. Stripped and re-finished in a heavy textured stone coloured fabric.

Ercol Springtime Lounge chair

One of the tallest Lounge chairs made by Ercol. A full height chair that gives excellent support all round. This one is seen stripped, re-varnished and re-webbed and waiting for the new cushions and fabric.

Close up of a re-finished Ercol Jubilee chair

Showing the finish to the wood: a clear satin varnish that shows off the Beech to best effect. Fully re-webbed using Pirelli rubber webbing. A neat job.

Parker Knoll

A Parker Knoll chair in the process of being re-upholstered. Frame fully stripped and repaired and new springs.

Stripping

All frames are stripped by hand using machine tools. This is followed by hand sanding. We find this is the most effective way of removing old varnish to reveal the wood without damaging it.
