About our Sofas

All of our vintage sofas are fully refurbished to the same high standard. We obtain them from a wide range of sources which allows us to stock many different types of sofa. We specialise in Ercol and stock examples from most of their ranges from the 50’s through to the 70’s, as well as from other well known manufacturers sourced from the UK and Europe. Where items are not in stock we can always obtain further examples at a customer’s request and on receipt of an order.

Typically, wood framed items will be stripped back to the bare wood before applying several coats of Osmo Polyx Hard Wax Oil varnish. This is hard wearing and comes in a wide range of finishes. Most popular is a clear neutral satin to show off the pale grain of the wood. Where webbing is used we will always remove the old and re-web using an appropriate type. For Ercol sofas it will be Pirelli rubber webbing applied under tension and using rivets and locking dowels as per the original factory method. Other non wood framed sofas will be refurbished according to their need.

After having discussed the material with the customer using a range of fabric sample books, we supply and cover new fire retardant foam and soft cushion s (using a fire retardant interliner when necessary) . The cushions and covers are cut and stitched to deliver a more relaxed finish to some models by replacing the original Ercol ones with soft structured cushions. Each is measured and cut to ensure a perfect fit for each model of sofa. They will also incorporate zip off covers for ease of cleaning.

Pricing depends on the model, size and choice of material. Prices typically range from approximately £1250 for a two seater to £1700 for a three seater sofa and they are inclusive of all costs save for delivery which is calculated by region. Please enquire and we will be happy to discuss options and prices with you.

Lead times for bespoke items are dependent on workload and fabric decisions but are typically around four to six weeks.
